Youth Advisory Group
Arabic Welfare is looking for 5-10 dedicated young volunteers aged 18-28 who are passionate about helping others and are ready to get involved. These individuals will play a key role in supporting their peers, making a positive impact, and contributing to the development of the Youth Advisory Group.
The Arabic Welfare Youth Advisory Group will provide young people with a platform to voice their opinions and actively engage in addressing the needs of their peers within the community. This group will serve as a space where youth can explore and understand the challenges faced by other young people while contributing to solutions that help meet their needs. This opportunity will not only give young people valuable training in a dynamic environment, but will equip them with essential skills and knowledge, empowering them to become leaders and advocates in their communities.
What you will gain by applying:
Developing Leadership Skills YAGs provide young people with opportunities to take on leadership roles, plan initiatives, and make decisions that impact their peers and communities. This helps build confidence, responsibility, and organisational skills.
Understanding Social and Community Issues Through the advisory process, young people often gain a deeper understanding of social issues, public policy, and community needs. This helps cultivate critical thinking and a broader perspective on how the world works.
Enhancing Communication Skills Working with a diverse group of individuals and presenting ideas or opinions in a constructive way helps develop strong verbal and written communication abilities. This is crucial in personal, academic, and future career settings.
Improved Problem-Solving Skills The collaborative nature of a YAG requires young people to work together to find solutions to real-world problems. This fosters creative thinking, adaptability, and teamwork.
Networking and Career Opportunities YAG members often have the chance to interact with professionals and community leaders, which can help them build valuable connections. This can be beneficial when looking for internships, volunteer work, or even future job opportunities.
Personal Growth and Confidence The responsibility and experiences that come with being in a YAG contribute to personal growth. As young people contribute their ideas and see them being valued, their confidence in their abilities often increases, making them more self-assured in other areas of life.
