Our Arabic Welfare Youth Group visited Centenary Bakery, a Lebanese family owned business providing garlic bread across Australia.
The young people were provided with information and were introduced to the wide range of machines, and utensils used in the bakehouse factory. The young people were also given opportunity to ask questions during the tour.
The learning objective of this trip was to encourage young people to familiarise themselves with the baking processes by experiencing the overall atmosphere in person, hearing from a migrant about overcoming struggles and the achievements in opening a business, as well as exploring job opportunities.
